Exercises:
Exercise 1. Daily Inspection
You will learn to perform daily inspections of mid-range excavators before starting your work in accordance with the operation manual.
Exercise 2. Warming up the Engine at Low Temperatures
You will learn to start up the engine in winter.
Exercise 3. Uphill Start
You will learn to position the vehicle for driving as well as drive uphill from a given location.
Exercise 4. Driving Forward and Reversing
You will learn to drive forward and reverse. The exercise is set in a confined passage on a special site.
Exercise 5. Driving Downhill and Turning
You will learn to drive downhill and turn correctly. The exercise is set in a mountainous terrain.
Exercise 6. Driving over Swampy Ground
You will learn to drive using the PSRP-1 leapfrog-type access mats.
Exercise 7. Freeing the Excavator out of a Swamp
You will learn to free the excavator out a swamp using its attachments.
Exercise 8. Driving into a Parking Place
You will learn to drive the excavator into a parking place on a special site.
Exercise 9. Driving onto a Lowboy Trailer
You will learn to drive onto a lowboy trailer for heavy equipment transportation and follow the signalman’s signals.
Exercise 10. Driving off a Lowboy Trailer
In the previous exercise you learned how to properly drive onto a lowboy trailer. Now you will be trained to drive off it without damaging the excavator and its attachment.
Exercise 11. Trench Backfilling
You will learn to backfill and grade trenches. If you exceed the acceptable error limits for the graded surface, the ground will be marked with red color. Follow the color ground marking to complete the exercise successfully.
Exercise 12. Excavating to Expose a Pipeline Section
You will learn to excavate for exposing a pipeline section by preset reference points while avoiding contact with the pipeline.
Exercise 13. Excavating a Valve
You will master precision operation of the attachment by excavating a pipeline section with a valve. Excavation is done according to the preset outline to the depth marked with reference points.
Exercise 14. Leveling a Sand Fill Slope to a Preset Grade
You will learn to level a sand fill slope to a preset grade determined by the reference plane. Pay attention to the color marking when leveling. Areas with an excessive grade will be highlighted in brown.
Exercise 15. Soil Unloading onto a Site
You will learn to load soil from a pile and unload it onto a site of a preset size.
Exercise 16. Soil Unloading into a Truck
You will learn to load soil from a pile and unload it into a truck.
Exercise 17. Excavating a Trench along the Preset Outline in the Vicinity of a Pipeline
You will learn to excavate along a preset outline while maintaining the required distance to oil pipelines.
Exercise 17. Excavating a Trench of Required Size. Soil Unloading onto a Site
You will learn to excavate a trench along the preset outline and unload soil onto the assigned site. You may use two attachment types in this exercise: a bucket or a trench bucket.
Exercise 18. Excavating a Trench of Required Size. Soil Unloading into a Truck
You will learn to excavate a trench along the preset outline and unload soil into a truck. You may use two attachment types in this exercise: a bucket or a trench bucket.
Exercise 20. Operating a Hydraulic Hammer
You will learn to excavate a service pit to the required size and depth in frozen soil using a hydraulic hammer.
Exercise 21. Pilot Hole Drilling Using an Auger Drill
You will learn to drill using an auger drill attachment.
Exercise 22. Moving and Driving Piles Using a Vibratory Pile Driver
You will learn to manipulate a vibratory pile driver. You will learn how to pick up and lift a pile and install it into soil while maintaining the preset pile angle. Pay attention to the highlighted pile end: a wrong pile angle is highlighted in red, while the vertical pile position is shown in green.
